I think I’ve accidentally overdosed, would you go straight to A&E?

I think, I’m not 100% sure .

I was prescribed 56 tablets on the 17th September, by my calculation that would mean I should have 26 left if I’m taking one every single day - I think .

I’ve only got 25 left . I had a feeling earlier I might have taken it twice but wasn’t totally sure, at about 7pm - very tired tonight .

They’re an anti depressant at the highest dose, I’m also on propranolol and diazepam right now . Tried 111 but it’s an hours wait, would you go straight to A&E?

@HootieOwls

I’ve counted on a calendar and attached it. So today’s pill is the 31st pill you have taken.

56-31=25

Oh thank you s much Flowers, that’s reassured me a lot - thank you . Probably don’t need to hand on for nhs 24 then !! Have had a horrible week with one thing and another ! Thank you again xx

@bloodywhitecat

If you started on the 17th and have taken today's that would be 31 tablets used so you should have 25 left.
This

You have not overdosed

@Floralnomad

I really can’t imagine that 1 extra tablet would do very much harm , stop worrying .
What a ridiculously irresponsible comment.

Aw go @HootieOwls that's lovely!

KevinTheKoala · 17/10/2021 20:35

It's 1 extra, its obviously not advisable but it won't cause any serious harm apart from some horrible side affects. If you are very concerned you can ring poison control or 111.

I suspect, like my tablets, they don't have the weekdays on them?

My old ones did, but not anymore, different brand.

What I do now is write M, T, W, Th etc on each tablet bubble, as I was losing track if I'd taken them or not.
Maybe do the same so you don't lose track again.

Or you could either buy a tablet box that you separate your meds in to or ask for a dosette box at the pharmacy and they'll do it for you.

Floralnomad · 17/10/2021 20:58

@kisgtrsy if one extra was going to do that much damage I wouldn’t imagine they’d prescribe them in the first place as it’s very easy to mistakenly take a dose .

dementedma · 17/10/2021 21:02

Good luck with 111. We were on hold for over 20 minutes last week until we got fed up waiting for someone to answer and just drove my son straight to hospital.

AutumnLeafy · 17/10/2021 21:06

Those little tablet boxes with the days on are great for this problem OP. I used to be 100% sure I'd never forget if I'd taken today's medication and then inevitably I would!

What a diamond you are. That’s so nice to do that 🙂

I'm glad it helped.
