Legoland or Chessington

Looking at booking a short break in one of these. Legoland seems to be more expensive, is it worth it? Kids are 2,5 and 8. 8yo doesn’t like scary rides. We were at chessington when he was 5 and we did like it. Should we go to Legoland now as the 8yo might be too old for it in a few years time as I hear it’s more for younger kids?

Stay between them and do a day at each!? Both are fab...

I’d say Legoland for those ages if they aren’t thrill seekers.

I agree. Legoland.

Legoland, lots of rides & shows, suitable for young children. Mini land is lovely to walk around, we usually took a picnic and ate it in Mini land.

Ah most votes for Legoland. Maybe that explains why it’s more expensive!

Depends on when you are planning on going and what your kids are like. We last took ours to Legoland the first week of the summer hols and stayed in the hotel. In 2 days we went on 3 rides. The queues and heat were horrendous. The kids just cried, refused to queue for longer than 20 mins (the queues were 1-2 hours long) and begged to go back to sit in the hotel.

It cost us the best part of a grand. It was awful. But strangely the kids still are desperate to go back because they just love the hotel and aren’t bothered by the rides.

We have friends who go stay in the hotel over the winter when the park is either closed/only a few selected rides are open. Apparently the kids have a great time using the hotel facilities (and it's cheaper than peak season with full park access)

We went when legoland was quiet but a couole of good rides were still 45 mins and only lasted 30 seconds. I found it frustrating. We were planning on trying alton towers and Chessington next. We spent a fortune and wish we just went to disneyland Paris!
