A video of her doing a tour of her house for Architectural Digest. A bit 'bling' to say the least.

I actually really don’t like the interior design. It’s straight out of an over the top modern interior designers cheat book.. the lighting in particular is hideous and not a single element of the interior reflects the houses’ history which I think is a real shame! Also the garden is bland.. I think it really lacks any creativity both inside & outside, and instead looks like just a mix of the most expensive things you could find. X

So she's flipping houses and this was an advertising campaign for the next sale.
And she's lived in it to reduce the tax burden.
Savvy business family I guess?

TheDuchessOfBeddington · 15/10/2021 23:30

I disliked it when he said that the best thing about the excavated basement was that no one was allowed to do it anymore.

Basically he seemed very smug that he had managed to ‘hoard’ one of the few sub basement spa and pool in a private home in London. What a prick Grin

Yep!

I pay £800 to live in my flat. If she achieves her asking she will make around £60 million after 10 years of renovation. So in effect she has been paid £500K each month to live there. Or maybe my maths is nonsense?

Springplanting · 15/10/2021 23:58

It does not say 'home'

It does scream 'overpriced conference room'

JoyPeaceHope · 16/10/2021 02:51

Did I misunderstand or do 2 of her DC have to share a bedroom?

GoGadgetGo · 16/10/2021 08:34

I'd rather the cash.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 16/10/2021 08:46

God I want a soft play in my house- forget the laundry room and closet, I want a soft play

He must be tripping over himself to be in that house!

Gorgeous house clearly but super dark- I much prefer her sisters

KL92xxxx · 16/10/2021 08:50

I don’t like really big houses personally. I love small comfy and cosy, I’d love a house bigger than the one I have but I find big houses are difficult to make ‘cosy’ and often look like show homes and have lots of empty spaces. It’s a beautiful house to look at, but to live in? Eh. Each to their own though! I just have never seen a cosy big house!

ButYouGottaHaveASkillJeff · 16/10/2021 08:59

It's dark and soulless. They kept mentioning the 'natural light coming from the windows'. Yeah a fraction of it!

He's definitely landed on his feet there.

GiantHaystacks2021 · 16/10/2021 09:19

What a mutilation of a once beautiful house.
Her taste is up her arse.

Yousexybugger · 16/10/2021 09:35

It's a bit dingy and corporate and not very well planned out, that dining room looks quite cramped for the size it must be, like s meeting room. Why buy a Georgian mansion and rip out the interior? Why not just buy a modern house?

GnomeDePlume · 16/10/2021 09:38

It just looks corporate. A conference centre rather than a home.

thevassal · 16/10/2021 11:43

If I got paid for every time they said 'obviously' in that video for something that was not at all obvious, I'd be able to afford to buy it!

Agree that they kept referring to the 'natural light' as if it was something rare and unique but then had a million lights and lamps on because it was so dark. And apparently slightly larger than average beds can only be found in LA, not in London Confused

Agree with the PP that the dining room in particular looked exactly like a conference room. But then she probably has spent her entire life either in luxury hotels or in houses as expensive as hers, all of which would have been designed by professions, so probably wouldn't have the same idea of what is a nice/homely/personal house compared to 'normal' people!

ballsdeep · 16/10/2021 11:47

@MissBattleaxe

I find ownership of such a house downright obscene when people are using food banks. There is nothing I admire about a woman spending her father's money on ostentation.
Me too. I used to follow Tamara and all she does is travel. O don't think her daughter goes to school!
AnotherMansCause · 16/10/2021 11:52

It looks artificial & soulless. Quite appropriate really.

viques · 16/10/2021 12:04

Her interior designers must have been rubbing their hands together with glee when they got the job. “Just bang on about onyx, crystals and natural light and the dummies won’t notice the extra zeros on the invoices”

The only reason all those “features” are “custom designed” are because no one else would want them in their home.

Agree with the estate agent vibe from the partner, he has an internal calculator totting up the cost of every item.

I did like the fish tank.

viques · 16/10/2021 12:08

@Oblomov21

I can't grasp what is was like before. Limited market for re-sale though.
It will be bought as an money laundering investment by some arms dealer/ blood diamond/ ex pat dictator , they will never live there , but the live in security guards will have a ball, especially if they persuade them to keep the pool filled!
PegasusReturns · 16/10/2021 12:08

Obviously it’s obviously very obviously big and obviously the bling is the obvious design ethos. Obviously.

PartyStory · 16/10/2021 12:41

I find the Ecclestone sisters fascinating. So much money and privilege yet aside from living in big houses, they are indistinguishable from working class people who didn’t have many opportunities. They always come across like they had won the lottery and not grown up like this.

Someone already said “Dubai hotel” and that’s exactly it. I actually feel sorry for them as their world doesn’t seem to be that big, probably as a result from only going from one samey expensive place to another.

The sisters always come across as awkwardly trying to get attention but being too cut off from reality to fit in. They just don’t seem to have much going on in their lives besides shopping and spending time with their terrible partners. I feel sorry for them.

merrymouse · 16/10/2021 12:46

Poor thing having to spend all that money and ending up with a house that looks like a waiting room.

artquejtion · 16/10/2021 13:13

The boyfriend certainly appears to have his claws in on her home ownership, 'our home', 'our family'. Everything he has is only because he is her boyfriend and she has a trust fund from her father.

They have only been together a short while, he was an electrician and car salesman before they got together. I guess, for him, it is like a lottery win.

I don't think she even lives in that house, she and her kids live in LA.

PickleSarnie · 16/10/2021 13:22

So soulless.

Total opposite Architectural Digest video here - I love Cara Delevignes house!

user1498572889 · 16/10/2021 13:28

@MissBattleaxe
Exactly.

Tealightsandd · 16/10/2021 13:49

Agree. It's particularly poor taste showing it off when at the same time there are 165,000 homeless people in London (including two thirds of England's homeless families). These vulgar overpriced 'homes' are part of the problem.

Poor taste interior design wise too. I agree with pp.

The basement excavations are another huge problem in London. Absolute nightmare for neighbours, destroying beautiful homes - damaging the foundations and weakening the structure of both the basement owner home and those around it. There was am attempted crackdown a while back but I expect money talks.
