Having children after 38? Please talk to me, does it take ages? Is it largely impossible rather than easy?

38, newly single. Not had fertility check and can’t for the next few months as working abroad. I did have brief check many years ago and was told it looked normal for my age. Whatever that meant (wasn’t full check). I just want to know some real stories about trying after this age? Does it take ages?

I’m terrified. I want a family and feel like it’s all over.

Wishing you good luck with whatever you decide; the desire for a child can be so strong. I conceived easily at 37.5, sadly did not work out but hoping I will be as lucky soon at 38.

...btw I think you can do lots of fertility tests at home/order kits etc? My gp was able to run basic ones for me but I know that can be luck of the draw/GP’s mood that day...

Hi ladies, some really positive stories.

I'm 38, ttx baby no2 after a miscarriage. My period is a week late (not pregnant) and wondering if its perimenopause. Did any of you deal with this and managed to get pregnant?
