Test and trace in Scotland - can I leave my details on paper?

I know there's a covid topic but posting here for traffic as it's gone (thankfully!) quite quiet there.

We're visiting Scotland next week from England and I know you're still doing the T&T thing there. Are all venues also taking details on paper or is an app compulsory? I've no storage on my (ancient) phone and DH doesn't carry one so I hope so!

Everywhere in England just let you leave your number so wondered if it was the same in Scotland.

Thanks!

I am in Scotland and I have never used the app to give details. The app is just for contact tracing. You either scan a QR code or leave details on paper. I'm not even sure if everywhere is still taking details anymore.

I've only downloaded the app for checking into places this week. Everywhere I've been so far has had their own QR code / weblink or pen and paper. Note that from the 18th you need proof of vaccination status for some venues (I think pubs and restaurants are excluded but haven't read the details yet). We also have an app for that but I assume an English version or paper copy will be accepted.

Ah this is reassuring, thank you!

I was concerned about the vaccine passports but we're only going to pubs and restaurants which close before midnight so don't operate as nightclubs, so as far as I can see we won't need them. Not sure about touristy places though - we're going to Edinburgh castle and a few galleries/museums which will obviously be quite busy.
