Four more energy companies 'could go bust this week'

I wonder if one of them will be Bulb.

I wonder the same. I'm with them and they've been very quiet of late.

FanGirlX · 13/10/2021 02:57

They've just doubled my direct debit, even though I'm in credit.

Taken pics of my account page in the app, so I can prove I'm in credit.

May cancel my direct debit if they go bust, don't want to be building up even more credit.

It's looking like there will just be the B6 firms left shortly, with no downward pressure on prices.

This is bad for fixed income households, it's also bad for the wider economy as those affected will spend less, particularly on discretionary spending. I know I'm already cutting back.

Oh no! I'm with Pure Planet!

GreenClock · 13/10/2021 22:10

It’s all so unsettling. And less disposable income in households is so bad for local economies.

Vulnerable people will switch off their heating, and suffer until they switch it back on.

I feel very sorry for the staff too.

ChipsNCurry · 13/10/2021 22:34

Also with Pure Planet - who had put out a statement recently to the effect of don't worry, we're well hedged etc.....

I guess we wait to be moved to another supplier and then look around for the best deal (not that there are any!)

It's bad news for a lot of people. I'm certainly cutting back on discretionary spending at the moment.

I'm not choosing between eating and heating but my spending decisions will have an impact on the wider economy as lots of my friends are cutting back too.

And the bad news is that weeks after being automatically transferred to edf when my provider went bust, I still haven’t got my account details so can’t switch whether I want to or not.

There must be thousands in the same boat.
