Should carpet uplift cost be separate from disposal? Been quoted £100

Ive been quoted £100 to have my current carpet ‘uplifted’ before the new one is fitted.

I’ll be paying for the carpet and its fitting, ‘uplift’and I will be paying for disposal separately. Uplift means the carpet fitter leaves it in the garden for someone else to collect and dispose.

The charge is £100 to cover 3 bedrooms, hall and stairs. Surely he would need to uplift the carpet to fit the new one or is this a normal cost when paying for carpet installation??

Thank you!

I've always removed old carpet myself before the carpet fitter comes.

All carpet fitters charge for the time they spend ripping up your carpets, whether it’s detailed in the quote or not. I’m sure you wouldn’t expect them to do it for free. You could always do it yourself and save £100.

This. I'd definitely expect to be charged extra for the fitter doing it.

I've always ripped my own carpet up. I would expect to be charged for the fitter to pull it up.
