Because I had one today for a job I really want and I think it went badly. I had prepared for hours over the role, legislation etc none of which came up, the questions were a bit random and I ended up waffling and babbling for ages.

@TravellingSpoon good luck! But if you don't get it remember there's a better position just around the corner even if it's next year! Which isn't that far away!

Unfortunately I went for an interview last June I and rambled and didn't get the job but they said other opportunities would be coming up and ...low and behold an even better job came up! I got it!

Usually they have decided who is the best candidate is and who they have their eye on for future.

I applied for a job which was advertised as full time. At the interview they asked if I would consider job share. I said no, because I had no partner or other source of income so I needed a full time position to cover my expenses. I also made the point quite strongly that I considered the advertisement to have been misleading for not mentioning the possibility of jobshare. I said not to have done so was wasting the time of people like myself who were seeking a full time post. Despite my being quite critical they did offer me the post - as a job share! I declined.
