How many fish fingers could you eat?

I’ve just had 5. I’ve just put another 5 in the oven. I reckon I could eat 15 quite easily. Is this normal

They'd be the Quorn ones for me, but I could easily put away the whole pack if I had some white bread and tartare sauce Blush

Rosesareyellow · 08/10/2021 18:41

I would eat four.
I could eat about 30 I’m sure.
Fish fingers are amazing - I didn’t eat them for years but since having DCs they are very much back on the menu.

bengalcat · 08/10/2021 18:42

4 in a sandwich with rocket and mayo

SilentBob · 08/10/2021 18:52

Battered or breaded?

Vanuatu · 08/10/2021 18:56

On their own 10
With beans and chips 5
I love them Smile

Thelastcommercial · 08/10/2021 18:57

15

Soggychip · 08/10/2021 18:57

They were breaded. I didn’t know you could get battered versions😳

All of them. I could eat all of them.

Dillydollydingdong · 08/10/2021 19:00

Fish fingers are only tiny. I've just eaten 3 but they were the jumbo sort. I had them with baked beans.

stupiduser · 08/10/2021 19:00

I love that someone has asked if it's a do or die situation! What a great thread

LadyCatStark · 08/10/2021 19:06

I don’t know, I’ve never tried to see how many I can eat! I have 4 on a sandwich as that’s how many fit on a slice of bread.

SilentBob · 08/10/2021 19:47

Oh you can! And you should!

I could eat-

Breaded: 4 if it were life and death and I was allowed to hide them in thickly buttered white bread with tartare sauce and baby gem lettuce.

Battered: I'd take on any challenger. 25 sounds like an easy ride.

FuckingFlumps · 08/10/2021 19:52

If it was a do or die situation I recon I could eat at least 40. They are not much bigger than nuggets and I've polished off 20 of those more than once in my lifetime.

Bloody love fish fingers and pleased to see the feeling is shared so liberally. One of my proudest accomplishments in my marriage is introducing my DH to the beauty that is a fish finger sandwich. Poor bugger had a very deprived childhood. GrinGrin

NoThighGap · 08/10/2021 19:58

All you fish finger lovers need to google Nigella fish finger bhorta.
You can all thank me later.

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 08/10/2021 19:59

I had 10 in 2 sandwiches tonight, so probably 12-15 on their own 😂

5zeds · 08/10/2021 20:02

30 easy probably a lot more if my life depended on itGrin

PostmanSplat · 08/10/2021 20:03

Easily a box. I ate ten Yorkshire puddings a couple of nights ago so I have form for gluttony

TrashPanda · 08/10/2021 20:06

I usually do them in combination with chicken dippers, covered in salt & Worcestershire sauce and then dipped in sweet chilli sauce. I do the box of 10 fish fingers and the same amount of dippers so I can alternate them. Sometimes I add a box of 8 tempura prawns to the plate too, depends if i'm properly hungry or not.

APJ1 · 08/10/2021 20:13

I've been known to eat a pack of 12.

BookFiend4Life · 08/10/2021 20:14

I've been thinking of this since the other fish finger thread. I don't think I've ever had enough to be "full" of fish fingers, but I think I could probably eat a whole bag of the little ones. Or maybe infinite? I think the real answer is "until there aren't anymore"

Soggychip · 08/10/2021 20:15

Well I’m feeling a bit of a lightweight compared with some of you with your 20 and 40 . I’ve heard about Nigellas Bhorta which does sound wonderful but a bit of a faff. I’m going to seek out the battered fish fingers though. Not sure how I’ve made it to my 60s without realising such things existed.

I'd lose interest after about 4, can't remember the last time I ate them. Much prefer a battered fish from the chippy!

Nah you're not a lightweight. I bet if you really really needed to you could manage more. In reality it wouldn't even start to feel like a chore until about finger number 35 so I reckon you'd push through and scoff 5 more. Grin

easily 20 and mix in with some calamari in the batter with salt and lemon and chilli. Maybe some garlic mayo too? :)
