GDPR type question, possibly or not

So if I've been discharged from mental health, not allowed any support at all including in crisis, as they must keep their time for the "more deserving" (their words not mine) and refuse to take my calls and block my email address. Why are they then allowed to discuss (as in a phone calls and emails) my mental health and discharge with my landlord without my permission?

I don't understand.

Bear in mind I live somewhere very rural. We don't even have a CAB anymore as council stopped all funding. Nearest mental health advocate was in Bridgend (over five hours away) and they wouldn't travel to where I am (I'm unable to get into transport anymore).

Oh I see....

What help are you looking for at the moment Becca? If you are at risk of harm you can call 999.

I just wanted to know about GDPR; I can't cope with anything right now as I'm so overwhelmed I keep getting repeatedly triggered. My fault for going into too much detail. Sorry.

I wouldn't focus on GDPR. It isn't a magic bullet and we certainly can't tell from your posts whether it has been breach.

If you can't get through to the doctor's by telephone you could try sending an email.

I would also recommend contacting MIND to see what support they can offer.

If you are able to explain what help you need we might be able to advise.

Becca19962014 · 09/10/2021 22:19

As far as I'm concerned they should put speak to anyone if they speak to me, understand no one hear can help. Sorry.

That isn’t how it works with safeguarding. Landlord must be sufficiently concerned to have rang social services. Professionals have conversations around safeguarding all the time without the person necessarily being aware.

But it is best practice to seek consent and inform the patient beforehand, unless there is a risk to the patient by doing so. Conversations regarding safe guarding should be done with Nearest Relatives / Close Contact, not a land lord.

OP - it is utterly wrong what you have been through, please do escalate it further, particularly being told you cannot access crisis care in a crisis. Who wrote that letter?

Becca19962014 · 10/10/2021 20:31

@DreadtheShred head of mental health for the county. They then informed all staff. Complaint resulted in same letter.

You need to involve MP then and Care Commissioner

Becca19962014 · 10/10/2021 20:40

@DreadtheShred

I know it's the senedd member here not MP but I don't know if care commission covers Wales, do you? I get confused with the health differences.

Escalating isn'tgoing to help the OP. It sounds as though LL phoned for help as worried about OP and the house/other occupants. All they said was they couldn't help him. Told him they weren't involved and to call the police. That's not a GDPR breach. OP needs to focus on trying to get better rather than wasting energy going after the landlord and raising complaints which will just use up more resources.

I hope you get better OP but raging about everyone else isn't going to help you.

MissM2912 · 10/10/2021 21:36

Kiko I totally agree. Landlords don’t tend to make malicious phone calls to social services. There is presumably a concern around tenancy sustainment. Happens all the time. Housing are at multi disciplinary meetings all the time. I recognise this is slightly different as it is private landlord as opposed to social.
