Store bought Christmas Hampers

I am looking online now .........

Last year I really fancied a Christmas hamper from ALDI. I had seen the reviews and noted the ALDI one was favoured over the Fortnums equivalent. I tried to get one but I was a little too late as they were all sold out.

This year I have looked at their hampers - all different prices so suit all pockets/tastes I suppose.

When I looked at the one I would probably have gone for I see it contains things I would not necessarily have bought so the alternative is to create my own hamper buying odd luxury things when I do the weekly shop and store them away. All sounds good ?

No because this is the part where we would would fail miserably since we would know where the goodies are stashed (in the garage on the top shelf) and eat them before the event.

Do you buy a hamper and if so which one and why do you buy it (as opposed to others) and is it value for money or just another indulgence at Christmas?

Thank you

I've bought M&S basket hampers in the past which have always gone down well

Nah, we have a stash of hamper boxes that we refill with goodies.

The trick is to buy things that aren't for instant gratification - coffee beans, fancy oils etc. And buy yourself some of the snackier things Grin

Plus I tend to include a couple of permanent things too - mugs if it's a drinks hamper, etc.

I love the idea of them and have received some very fancy expensive ones, but I always find the there are at least 2 things I really don't want so I get guilt over the waste.

First world problem I realise.
