Have we lost our sense of humour?

Read the news- negativity and dramatic headlines
Go on social media- all forms full of negativity, people criticising other people, putting them down etc
Real life- slightly better but still gloomy.

Yet when I speak to friends in 3rd world countries who arguably have more problems there is almost always so much more joy laughter and lightness.

When did we get so gloomy? Just want to enjoy life again!

I haven’t watched the news or read a paper for over eighteen months because of this. Even most of the forums I’m on are relentlessly negative now and I avoid them.

Yes, we know how dreadful every single thing has been for so long, but surely there must be some pleasure in life. It’s been said that mental unwellness is the next pandemic and I agree. People who didn’t used to be anxious and miserable are, and those who do suffer from anxiety find it really difficult to overcome.

My social media is full of humour.

If MN is anything to go by, too many people take anything humorous as a personal slight rather than responding back lightheartedly.

Foxy I agree and I think people are engineering it to an extent. I try to filter as much negativity out as possible and yet somehow so much still gets through. The more time we spend thinking about and discussing negative things, the more negative we become.
