Can I not get my covid jab any quicker?

rainyraindrops · 05/10/2021 21:30

So I'm booked in next Wednesday for my first covid jab. But on the the NHS website it is allowing me to book my second jab but the date its giving me is right before I go on holiday in December.

Is there not a walk in option that I can book in to for a months time?

@PurpleDaisies

It's also not me who hasn't had the bloody vaccine. So check yourself.

I posted that information for anyone who is reading the thread and confused about what the current guidance is.

You have taken this very personally

Oh OK. You're doing the PA mumsnet thing of having a go then blaming the poster for coming back at you. Acting faux confused and complaining someone has taken something personally. You quoted my comment hun.

Classic mumsnet. Can give it out but can't take it.

What are you on about? Confused
You really are embarrassing yourself here.

@AntiMaskersAreTwats

Maybe you should have had it when you were supposed to rather then deciding to have it when it benefited you to go on holiday easier Hmm No sympathy.
@AntiMaskersAreTwatsIts its not mandatory yet - as that would be illegal..

I posted this for info on how to get one quicker - which people have helped with. No need to preach and judge this is AIBU. Not every one thinks the same as you.

The mass vax centre I used to volunteer at (before it shut) had a 7 week 5 day cut-off. It is worth asking at the walk-in tomorrow what their exact rule for 2nd dose is.

ajandjjmum · 06/10/2021 20:37

@rainyraindrops

I have found a walk in for tomorrow, I would be able to get there till 30 mins before they shut though.i wonder if there will be a long queue
It's pretty manic actually as all the 'oldies' are coming in for their booster jabs now. Include myself as an oldie - so not being rude! Grin

Some one said exactly the same to me today. So I will ask!

Excellent. Hope it’s quick and easy.

Found a walk in through a friend who works there in 10 days. Nothing before that. Bizzare.

You were rude to me and the back tracked making out it was a more general comment and I was taking it personally. When you literally quoted my comment. That's what I'm talking about. Nothing to be embarrassed about as far as I'm concerned.

Pulling you up for your shit isn't embarrassing. If you're going to have pop at people at least have the balls to stand by what you have to say. Really fucking weird behaviour.

WeAreTheHeroes · 07/10/2021 07:45

My apologies @Shirazboobaloo, thanks for providing the info.

I don’t think you understand how a discussion forum works @Neonplant.

No because its so complicated... What is not to understand?

Honesty I can't be fucked with you. Just really odd behavior. Bye hun.

Utterly bizarre. Confused

I went to a drop in yesterday to get my second one. I had my first in June.
There were two women in front of me and they were just days off having had their first 8 weeks ago and they got turned away and told to come back..
The nurse said it was 8 weeks minimum.

It's not the nurses (or staff) being awkward. The computer will literally not let you log someone in if they're not due - even if they're only a day short.
ragged · 07/10/2021 14:48

Has OP had her jab yet?

rainyraindrops · 07/10/2021 15:09

@ragged

Has OP had her jab yet?
Yes I did! The vaccine cite was run very very efficiently, even though there was quite a few people there was no waiting time by the time I had got round. The nurse was awesome too. It didnt hurt at all and my arm is fine with seemingly no side effects. She said I can book in for 8 weeks but to ring to see if I could get in bit earlier the two weeks before.

So all in all I was very impressed with the whole service - however my anxiety was bad and I teared up whilst she was getting it ready. The reason why I never had it sooner is that I remember the swine flu vax issues, I didn't feel there was enough data on this vax to consider it safe yet especially with emerging evidence that some peoples hearts are effected ( although mostly men) and my eldest dd has a personal friend who is documenting her journey of having multiple daily fits since she had the injection.

I'm not going to lie I really didnt want it. Not because of conspiracies ect but I was genuinely nervous about its safety.

But Dh booked a holiday this Christmas, he did book one summer just gone, which I didnt go on because I wouldn't have the vaccine - he went with the kids by himself but this time I didnt want to miss out on the kids having fun.

I am very grateful that I was able to get a vaccine so easily but I feel sad that I feel forced to have a vaccine I didnt want. But its done now.

Thanks for those being lovely and not judging Flowers

@ajandjjmum ok? I wasn't blaming the nurses

Didn't think you were - I was just saying that they had absolutely no flexibility or discretion. Didn't mean to upset you!

Cuck00soup · 07/10/2021 17:52

Glad you've had your jab Rainy.
