Talk to me about Zip and Link type beds please ...could they help our sleep problems?

Being perimenopausal/menopausal my sleep is pretty poor and DP is a restless, loud sleeper. Neither of us feel rested in the mornings as we're constantly waking each other up tossing and turning, plus I get too hot etc

Anyway we recently slept in one of these types of bed and, having separate mattresses, slept so much better.

At the moment we have a standard double but had recently talked about getting a king size instead despite space being a bit tight so maybe we need to consider a zip and link one?

Any exprience or recommendations?

I have super king size zip & link. One hard one medium. We sleep soooo much better. Thoroughly recommend them.

Where did you get yours from if you don't mind me asking as they seem to vary in price so much?

Yes, we have a super king zip and link, it's very comfortable... but we still sleep separately (I have the super king - DH has a king Grin) ... we sleep much better completely apart ! We bought it from an independent bed shop, about £1.5 K ... over 15 years old now and still very comfortable. Our king sized bed is also extremely comfortable despite being as old as our marriage - 34 years !

@Ragwort , yep sleeping apart must do wonders for your sleep! I sleep so much better when DP is away

Honestly can you do separate bedrooms. My DH is a horrible snorer so he was sent to another room until he dies something about his snoring and I can finally sleep it’s AMAZING

I've never understood why people share a bed if they don't have to. I like sleep far too much! Separate rooms will be the only way forward for me if I ever get into a relationship again.

I used to work for a mattress manufacturer and all the mattresses above double size were made as zip and link unless specifically requested not to - otherwise they don’t fit in a van or through a front door.

whilst that may not be the case at all manufacturers it’s definitely not unusual, so go into a mattress shop and ask, I expect you’ll find it’s not problem to do a zip and link of two different tensions and shouldn’t cost too much more than delivering a king size+ in one piece

And btw very very common for couples to do this!

I purchased my zip and link beds from an online retailer called comfybedss, they have a great range of beds.
