Maths problem help please, includes diagram!

Please see attached diagram.
If the dotted lines mean add and the solid lines mean multiply, should b + c + d + e = a ?

And does b need to be the sum of d+e?

I’d say a = b + e + c, but yes b = d + e

Which means that a = d + e + e + c

So it means:
A = b+c+e
B= d+e (so yes, b is sum of d and e)
C = e*f

Then we use substitution to write
A = (d+e) + c + e
(I swapped b for d+e)
This is simplified by collecting the es together:
A = 2e + d + c
So not as stated in your first post
