How do I find a job working from home?

I'm desperate for a job working from home. I work in the NHS (pharmacy) but I'm really struggling with my health and whilst I'd be perfectly capable of a desk job I can't do physical stuff much longer. I've got a degree in life sciences. I just don't know how to make the change. So many people wfh now but I don't know how to do it myself, I never see anything advertised. I'd be so grateful for any advice.

LinkedIn vacancy search now has a way to filter jobs by “remote working”, I imagine that it might be the same for other job sites too

Update your LinkedIn & put it so only agencies can see you are looking for work. Stress your maths/analysis/coding skills as they are transferable.

It depends what you want to do, but I'd be looking on roles on Linked In and even the ones that say a particular location, you could ask if they would consider full time remote? Or remote with 1/2 days per month in the office.

Type in remote under the search button and leave location blank. Also see homeworking, working from home

Thanks for the replies, I'll have a look at LinkedIn

Is there not something where the employer has to help if you need desk based due to health reasons? I thought that was the case but could be wrong. Maybe could speak to occupational health ?

Florence282 · 04/10/2021 17:40

Orangesandlemons77 they're required to make reasonable adjustments but my job can't be made exclusively desk based unfortunately.

There's a site called FlexJobs which I've used - it's all remote or flexible working ads. It is very US-based, but there are some UK and European things on there. A lot of things like academic proof reading or scientific copywriting, which if you have that kind of background might work for you.
