Heart rate of 140-160

Depends what you're doing, but yes, if you're sat on the sofa then it's pretty high. Do you have a history of tachycardia or condition that's bringing it on or has it come on suddenly?

Christmaslover67 · 02/10/2021 22:56

Resting heart rate

I would have a chat with 111 if I were you.

Is it in a stable rhythm?

AlexaShutUp · 02/10/2021 23:00

It is very high for resting heart rate. I would get some medical advice.

ohdeariforgot · 02/10/2021 23:01

Have you discussed this with GP or cardiologist? If not, seek medical care this evening

Christmaslover67 · 02/10/2021 23:04

I did go to a&e for it was treated with fluids. I’m worried about the same happening again.

Is this a topic you've posted about before?

Stompythedinosaur · 02/10/2021 23:06

Yeah, that is very high. Is it consistently at that rate? And the equipment you are using is reliable? If so I would ring 111.

Christmaslover67 · 02/10/2021 23:10

No I only experienced it recently

OP posts:
randomome · 02/10/2021 23:18

This is my resting heartrate. Did they do an ecg in a&e?

Christmaslover67 · 02/10/2021 23:19

They did do an ecg which showed sinus tychardia

OP posts:
randomome · 02/10/2021 23:27

Okay, that's good as it suggests your heart is bearing regularly just quicker than normal.
Did they say if they were going to arrange a holter monitor or echo?
In my experience when Drs have ruled out any underlying causes they aren't generally too concerned with sinus tachy. Are you stressed or anxious recently?

Thekolschisonme · 02/10/2021 23:47

I'd ring 111. Any other symptoms - chest pain shortness of breath dizziness cold and clammy then ambulance.
Depends what they said caused the first episode. Fluid resuscitation suggests dehydration or loss of circulating volume/shock. Have you had d and v ?
A hr of 140 - 160 at rest is concerning. Can be caused by many things, cardiac, infection, fluid loss.

ShinySquirrel · 02/10/2021 23:55

It's a bit unclear from your post whether this is happening to you right now, or has happened recently and you're looking for advice.

Can you clarify please?

Pinkchocolate · 03/10/2021 00:02

That’s very high. Are you on any medication? Definitely call 111.

Repeatedly.
iamreally · 03/10/2021 00:07

From your previous posts you have been to ED, been checked out, and a cardiac cause excluded.
What diagnosis are you expecting a bunch of unqualified people with not even an ECG or blood test to to review to tell you?

dontgobaconmyheart · 03/10/2021 00:11

Do you have any existing conditions that would cause this OP? What was said when you were discharged and what further investigations are pending?

If this is happening now and you're concerned and symptomatic at the HR you're at then call 111 and seek medical advice from them and ask your GP for further investigation on Monday. It is highly unlikely you would have been discharged if there were any immediate cause for concern or abnormality on your ECG etc.

I have a condition called POTS and am often tachycardic at rest and definitely have a similar HR when I stand. I believe it is unfortunately becoming more prevalent in post covid patients, which is a shame.

A high HR can be worrying and checking it continuously can make things more anxiety inducing. Whether it needs treating depends on the cause and duration, whether you're experiencing any symptoms with it. See what 111 say, be sure to stay very well hydrated and practice deep measured breathing which may help in the short term to lower the HR.

rhowton · 03/10/2021 16:33

I was diagnosed with Graves Disease when my RHR was 150bpm. Are you losing weight?
