Lower back pain - help please!

I stood up awkwardly last Sunday and something happened to my back. Instant dull ache which hasn't gone away.

I'm still in lots of pain - it's not too bad when I'm walking but sitting or trying to sleep is very uncomfortable

We're lucky to be a usually fit and well household so don't have much known with medication

I've been taking Nurofen and using deep heat but the lack of sleep is starting to get to me now.

I'd love some advice please

I’ll try and describe the third one .

Stand beside your bed Bottom facing it
Stand one free leg
Both Hands out front to help you to balance
Then very slowly sit back on the bed. Then sit up again
Secret is to not tip the hips. And do it super slowly

Change legs and do the other side

Thanks so much. I wish the chiropractor had given me these. I’ve spent a small fortune.

I’ve spent thousands over the years on chiros and Osteo’s.

Finding a decent physio £50 an hour. Has been life changing. Giving me confidence in myself. Strengthening myself Physios are for muscles Osteo’s and chiros aren’t in my opinion

Yoga was the right decision. It helps me a lot too. I, otherwise, have a sedentary work, so I need to exercise every day. When I tried yoga, I understood that this practice is good for me. You can also take painkillers, however, that is not a remedy, but just a pain relief. And I don't think a deep heat is always right, cause the back pain can be caused by different health problems. There is an article about it on the Canada Drugs website. So be very careful. If it's a renal issue, heating is contraindicated.
