For me, despite a shitty childhood, I’ve managed to raise (what I hope) are well rounded, happy children.

Come tell me your successes. X

Maybe brag isn’t the right word sorry!

Overcoming a shitty childhood too, raising two great humans, fostering and supporting DH through his terminal diagnosis.

Pleasegivemeyourwisdom · 02/10/2021 21:13

I love that! Thank you for sharing

Op that in my book is THE big achievement. Well done.

stayathomer · 02/10/2021 21:16

Hugs everyone, mine is that my kids got my sense of humour and are nice to people. It's what I want my legacy to be. also that I'm juggling ft work and kids at the mo, first time back in 10 years and it's nearly killing me but I'm kind of managing

Pleasegivemeyourwisdom · 02/10/2021 21:16

To be fair. They’re still all teenagers. I could have a rude awakening to come. I pray not though as I’m very tired getting them this far lol

I'm the only person in my Family that's been to Uni, I left school with poor grades. I've got a masters and try every day to be the best Nurse that I can be.

haveyouopenedyourbowelstoday · 02/10/2021 21:18

Apart from my 2 children, becoming a nurse at 51.

Pleasegivemeyourwisdom · 02/10/2021 21:20

My children and my DH

ShinyHatStand · 02/10/2021 21:25

Today?
That 14 year old DS just made his own pasta and cooked seafood ravioli

This year?
That I've cycled over 4000 miles since January despite recovering from chronic illness and then major surgery late last year

Pleasegivemeyourwisdom · 02/10/2021 21:29

Brilliant!

I feel a need to 'brag' if I may?
My daughter, 25, rang me last night ( slightly drunk ) to tell me she was in the pub with her mate and she loved me and so do all her mates and they all want me to go out on one of their nights out!
My son, 19, rang me today to ask my advice and opinion on a situation, he said he felt like he was going crazy and needed to speak to me.
So I feel very proud of the young people I've raised and feel like I've had 2 big wins this weekend 🥰

Pleasegivemeyourwisdom · 02/10/2021 21:38

I love that!

Also so proud of my 2 adult sons, both are great fathers, happily married, well adjusted and decent hard working blokes. I had problems in my own childhood and m ambition was to have happy children.

After a lot of sacrifices, hard work, knuckling down for years and by moving house and moving area due to redundancy I paid off my mortgage when I was 39. [Many, many years ago now!] It meant such freedom, and financial pressure has been minimal ever since.

Mumoblue · 02/10/2021 21:44

I’ve been having a tough time recently, being on UC as a single parent to a 20 month old. I guess I’m proud that I am keeping going, that I’m no longer with my useless cheating ex, and that my son is happy.

He learned a new word today. “Outside” Smile After a slow start to talking he’s getting so many new words in a short time. I’m proud of that too.

Deadringer · 02/10/2021 21:45

Can i brag about my dd? School was not easy for her, dyslexic and dispraxic, with a speech impediment thar caused her to socially awkward, she really struggled. She got her thesis results this week for her masters that she had to complete online with sod all support from her college while holding down a full time job. She is out tonight meeting up with strangers (meet ups type thing) in a bid to overcome her shyness and make friends. So proud of her.

Dragonpox · 02/10/2021 21:46

These are all amazing. Mine is probably just that since school started a few weeks ago I've actually bothered to separate whites from colours in the wash to keep school socks from going grey. That's my life achievement so far.

Snowdropsandbluebells · 02/10/2021 21:46

Grew up in a shitty council estate. At school was made to feel lower class by one teacher (others brilliant though). Now have a detached house In a lovely village. Graduated from 4 universities. Lovely dh and dc.

MargotandJerrywerehot · 02/10/2021 21:47

I got promoted last week! I have a mental illness that has been debilitating for periods of my like but I'm managing it.

Pleasegivemeyourwisdom · 02/10/2021 21:48

Thank you for sharing; I’m chuffed hearing your brags!
