...tomorrow night?
I've got to go food shopping on the way home from work so it needs to be quick. Friday night is usually curry or fajitas or homemade pizza but we're bored of all the usual stuff.
So what are your best quick and easy tasty Friday night dinner ideas?

hunters chicken (link included) with mash or chips, and peas. It's easy, and the kids like it :)

A jar of Lloyd Grossman chilli pasta sauce poured over chicken breasts and cooked in the oven. We have it with tagliatelle and broccoli 😋

Peking duck and pancakes is a popular Friday night feast in our house

Peking duck sounds good...do Aldi sell a bung it in the oven version?
Pad Thai recipe looks good but might require a bit more effort than I can muster.

It’s Thursday though right?

Karwomannghia · 30/09/2021 19:32

Oh sorry you did say tomorrow!

orangejuicer · 30/09/2021 19:32

Re read the first line Kar.

What about a toastie?

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 30/09/2021 19:34

@mamaduckbone yes Aldi does a readymade bung-it-in version! And now I want some...........

howtodojustaboutanything · 30/09/2021 19:38

Bung in chicken legs and roast veg with chorizo for a tray bake, maybe stick some bbq sauce on - have with chips or those miniboiled potatoes

Friday night is usually takeaway night in our house. Dh wants curry (he always wants curry) but I'm starting a diet and he can eat his butter and oil laden dishes on his own.

I'm making chickpea and spinach curry from Tom Kerridges "Lose Weight For Good" book. Looking forward to it too.

I will still be having a glass of wine though. It's Friday!

MrsPnut · 30/09/2021 20:02

We had chicken burgers last Friday night, breaded chicken steaks in a burger bun with mayo and salad with onion rings and fries.

Duck pancakes is a Saturday night dinner here, I buy a whole duck and slow cook it at 170c for 4 hours then up to 225c for 30m, shred and serve with pancakes, hoisin sauce and cucumber/spring onion.

mamaduckbone · 30/09/2021 20:26

Duck and pancakes it is...Dh is usually the cook in our house and has made it himself in the past but Aldi bung it in the oven version wins hands down for tomorrow. They'd better have it in stock.
It's my first day back at work after covid, Dh and ds2 are still isolating and we're decorating - cooking anything even vaguely complex is beyond anyone's capability right now.
I'll definitely store up some of the other ideas for future reference though...getting bored with our usual repertoire.

We enjoy a homemade Nando’s. Grilled, Butterflied, chicken breasts with a peri peri spice rub served in either pita or wraps with salad and coleslaw. Various sides depending on what we fancy, but there’s lots of recipes on line for homemade versions of spicy rice if you want something other than chips.
