@Neonplant - anything. I've tried fiction, crime, lifestyle, true stories, medical ones- I don't enjoy someone warbling in my ear. I don't find them interesting and I'd rather read about what I've listened to than listen to it. I try multiple different types of them to find ones I like and I got nothing out of any of them. Would rather read the book or watch the documentary.
That's not not getting it though, that's a preference to consume the information in another medium. Or can you not understand why people prefer that medium? I am being slightly awkward here, but it's because these threads are full of people claiming that they don't get the appeal of something when actually they just have a preference for something else.
It's obviously fine not to like things, but this dramatic I can't possibly get the appeal of this is very tiresome. I asked about podcasts as they are something which has been really important for education and awareness which is accessible to almost all. To not like them is obviously fine, but I'm not sure how you could not think of any situations or for any people where they could have appeal. So why not just say I don't like them?
This goes for loads of stuff on the thread. Obviously plenty of people just say their thing. But why do so many have to not get it? Are some many ver challenged with imagination?
For example I prefer lots of colours in my home as it makes me happy. I don't not get why people have lots of muted tones. It's not for me, but I understand it brings calm to people, thing match each other, it's widely available etc. It's not that hard to imagine
I'm not directing this just at the comment I quoted just the general phenomenon.
