Fainted this morning on uni placement (in a community hospital) . Practice educator thought I was very white and sent me home in a taxi to bed, where I’ve basically been since .
GP rang at three and said maybe anaemia but could be incubating a viral thing . Wants me to go in for an appt tomorrow for ECG and bloods and stuff .
Have had contact with my dad over the weekend who had direct contact with my gran who’s been diagnosed Covid19 . Dad told me after that he didn’t take a PCR, just did lateral flows and no symptoms .
Ended up with a fever tonight, so assume I’m meant to self isolate . Rang 111 for advice as I’m CV and live in halls of residence too so wasn’t sure at what point I need to let them know, and booked a PCR .
They agreed, said ?COVID and isolate in my flat until I get a negative PCR as per guidelines . They also insisted on getting a GP to ring me again .
GP rang about half an hour ago, said if not coughing or short of breath nothing to worry about, fever could be anything, highly doubts its covid - said ‘why would you assume it’s covid, it’s very very unlikely’ and said wear a mask if I’m that bothered but said really no need to isolate for mild symptoms; and that vaccine stops you getting it and passing it on anyway . Can go to uni, placement, shops , GP and socialise as normal .
Surely most of that GP’s advice is nonsense - I should be isolating? It would be helpful if I don’t have to but surely I shouldn’t chance it? Am bewildered !
