Here is my box room/home office. Yes, we actually chose that decor and put up the wall divider things. Now I'm redoing it and trying to get it right this time.

Dog doesn't sleep on our bed, to be clear! She has her own bed, it just happens to be nicer than ours.

D'S already has a cabin bed so I'm familiar with the sheets hell Grin I must be a glutton for punishment. It was worse when he had three million cuddly toys up there who all had to be arranged just so.

It looks like you are messy and have a lot of stuff- is the rest of the house like this?

If so I would forget the bed build giant cupboards in and clear all the clutter from everywhere. Desk, chair, cupboards- nothing else.

Bit harsh! Box room is the messiest room in the house, hence the word 'shit hole' in the title. The house will be even messier when I'm menopausal and sleep deprived though, so bed is a deal breaker.

Definitely need a desk to work, otherwise I would get too comfy I think.

When I say cabin bed... I mean more just a high up bed that I can for things under. Not keen on one with the usual desk/drawers/wardrobe bells and whistles, though that does seem to be mostly what's out there.

I did look at the studybed website before after it came up on another thread. Not sure I like them quite enough to justify the price tag unfortunately!

I've seen great deals ideas where they are quite shallow and cover the very end of the bed for use in small rooms.

What are the dimensions?

Rummikub · 26/09/2021 18:32

Yes was coming on to say what are the dimensions? And priorities for the room?

Ooh Harsh!!

Ops box room is tidy in comparison to mine, (dumping ground until we decorate and sort, can barely get through the door!)
If you were to make assumptions about me by the standard of my box room then you’d (wrongly) assume my house is a bloody hovel.
Couldn’t be further from the truth though.

Op came for advice on how best to utilise the space for what she needs, she didn’t ask for judgement!
