Do motorway service stations still have fuel?

I've been awake most of the night worrying about how I'm going to get home. Came away for the weekend, now got about a quarter of a tank which won't get me all the way home.

I feel such a dick, I didn't think about filling up till I was off the motorway and close to the destination and by then the petrol stations I saw along the way had mega queues and were out of diesel (fuel I use)

I don't need to drive today and the plan is to return home tomorrow. I do have enough to get to a motorway service station en route so if they are stocked up all will be well. But if not I could face running out of fuel on the way back.

Is anyone able to provide reassurance about service stations? Or warn me if they are also running out so I can think of a Plan B (train home and return for car when things settle down which would be a mega hassle but better than running out of fuel half way back?)

I was driving south yesterday from Scotland to Leeds and got fuel just fine. The petrol stations were busy but no shortage of fuel it seems. I think the media has sparked a panic where none needs to exist. It's only a few petrol stations that are having issues.

We have had to go out this morning to a club, and didn’t have much petrol. We have presumed it would be easy to fill up; if a few queues but unfortunately we’ve tried 6 petrol stations and all are closed. We’re on a slow journey home with a few miles left in the tank. We have just tried a further two petrol stations, one which has petrol but no diesel so we’re going to go home and pop it on the drive until we know there is petrol in our location.

See it’s people like my bosses mum that are the problem.. she’s in her 80’s and drives maybe 2-3 times a year we reckon? Last seen ‘popping’ out to fill up the car (it already have half a tank in it)… 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

No fuel on the M25 and most are driving slower to conserve fuel I guess! All stations open are for HGV only.

DP has no fuel to get to work Monday and hasn’t enough to drive around trying to find some. It’s a real problem so I guess he’s working from home on Monday 🤦🏻‍♀️

Well I managed a run all the way up the A55 and the M56 to Manchester airport and back and still have about 1/4 tank left. Traffic was slower going about 60 to conserve fuel so took me longer to get home, but I have enough Petrol left to last a couple more days at least.
You could see the petrol stations all along with queues and some completly empty of cars (no petrol left I assume) So I didn't bother stopping. (only for Starbucks)

It’s gone mad in our town. My neighbours had to wait over an hour at 6am. We went last night and ended up waiting around 45 mins. Only had 10 miles of petrol left so we genuinely needed it for work and school runs. Dp’s office is next to a petrol station and there has been queues and fights all day. We now only have 1 petrol station left with fuel - out of 17 in our local area! It’s mental! Our local Facebook selling page now has people selling old bean cans full of petrol for £30

We were supposed to be going away tonight and tried 17 different petrol stations, including motorway services - nothing. Absolute chaos, night away cancelled
