Help with baby’s wind?

Hi everyone

My little one is 16 weeks and is on Alfamino milk for a cows milk protein allergy.
He is struggling so much with bad trapped wind during the night? He burps well during the day but I think it might be because he is lying flat at night for a long time. He wakes himself up and is really uncomfortable. When I cycle his legs etc for a while he passes wind and he gets some relief and falls asleep but then is awake again before too long.

I’ve just introduced a probiotic - has anyone tried this? The GP prescribed Laxido to help his bowels and wind to move more freely, but am so worried it might cause cramps for him.

Does anyone have any advice or things to help him to have a more peaceful nights sleep? Thank you. X

Gripe water worked great for us.
Every night after bath time I'd do bicycle legs and bring knees to tummy, he brought out any wind he had. So it sort of reset his tummy if that makes sense.
I didn't use Laxido so I have no advised on that sorry but someone will come who has.

Hold baby under their armpits so that they are facing you with their body and legs dangling and then gently swing your baby so that their torso is swung towards you and then away etc and I found that dispersed all trapped wind very easily with both of mine.

What worked for us when DS was suffering, was holding him on our shoulder in typical winding pose, and walking up and down some steps for a bit, seemed to shift the stubborn wind.

Was also going to recommend gripe water.

Bicycle legs is a hood one but what we also did was to sit DS up and whilst supporting him, left up one arm in turn. This pushes up the diaphragm which will help out any air that’s sitting too high up to come out of his bum but not always high enough to burp out easily.

Baby massage before bed helps (and relaxes them!). Loads of videos on YouTube to follow, eg

Thank you for all of the responses!
Will need to give some of these a go.
We do baby massage and have tried gripe water in the past but might give it another go.
Last night he was awake for an hour very upset and once he passed his wind he visibly relaxed. Just want to help him to be more comfortable.
We started the probiotics so will see if that helps xx
