Strike estate agents (formerly housesimple)

Hello,

I have had 5 estate agents to value my property and I am thinking I would like to list with Strike. I am happy to do my viewings and use the online portal/app. What concerns me is I have seen some negative reviews where people have tried to arrange viewings and not been able to contact Strike/hear back from them. I don't understand this as my understanding from the valuation was that this would all be conducted by ourselves and Strike wouldn't need to be involved. When I queried this with a complainant, I was informed that buyers book a time slot but Strike have to get back and confirm. Is this correct? I don't understand why they would need to do this? Surely the booking would just come through to us as the sellers and we would confirm?

Do they not need a list for their commission eventually, or does Strike have a different system of pay?

No they don't, there is an option to pay them £500 for them to take photos, floor plan, virtual tour. They also make money if you go with their solicitors and optional extras but there is no obligation.

Could the negative reviews have come from someone picking a different service?

Quite possibly that's what I'm hoping to find out

A friend of mine had a seller who used Strike and their service was terrible, to the point where they had to visit the sellers property to tell them that they needed to sort the paperwork with Strike or else the moving date would've been delayed. Went through eventually but caused lots of stress.

Do you know what paperwork? I've not sold before and thought it was solicitors that dealt with paperwork Sad

I bought a property through them. It all went ok here

I used HS and it was a breeze.

As a viewer you book through their portal.
I would list 6-9pm mon-fri and all day sat/sun as available. People then booked whatever suited them.

I showed people around myself and told them about the place. After the viewing i swapped numbers with my buyer. We were in direct contact up to completion amd chasing solicitors for paperwork was much easier and it was easier to work out which one was lying/stalling...

It made the whole process way easier and i would not use a high street EA again.
