GP can prescribe a deodorant if you already using the strong stuff and it's not quite working for you. My sister used to get it. Worked wonders for her.

FelicityBeedle · 22/09/2021 17:25

You say you use the strongest deodorant, is that prescription Driclor? That stuff’s fab.
You can get tablets but they’re prescription

You get these discreet pad things which stick under your arms

Bamaluz · 22/09/2021 17:26

You can buy dress shields to stick in the armpits of the dress to stop sweat coming through, have a look on amazon, there are loads.
Botox injections are a more expensive and painful option.

I don’t think Theres tablets you can buy but there’s ones you can get prescribed (such as Clonidine) but they don’t stop sweating instantly. They can take a week or so to kick in. I’m not sure what the criteria for being prescribed them is but could you speak to your GP? Do you use specialist deodorants or just ones you get in the supermarket like Mitchum or sure? Is it just underarm sweating?

Driclor

Cottonheadedninymuggins · 22/09/2021 17:31

Visit the doctor and ask about hyperhidrosis. (excessive sweating) there are medications. They're rarely known about by some doctors so it can take some pushing or asking for a dermatology refferal . They were found via side effects for other illnesses/problems..

Oxybutyin, probanthaine and glycopyrronium bromide. The latter is very expensive so rarely prescribed. Oxy changed my life for the 18m that it worked before I became immune to it.

Probanthaine is hit and miss HAS to be taken on an empty stomach or it won't work full stop. It will dry your mouth some thin chronic so always carry gum or drink.

Glyco I found didn't work for me but for others it's amazing.

Good luck

Botox works wonders.

Cottonheadedninymuggins · 22/09/2021 17:32

If you do use driclor make sure you are bone dry before applying it (literally no moisture at all) or it'll make your armpits red raw.

My issue is entire body but its the face that annoys me the most as I can hide all the rest but not that.

My son uses Perspirex with brilliant results It's applied overnight 3 times weekly It's available in Boots

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/09/2021 20:50

If things like triple dry or driclor etc dont work for you try botox injections in the underarm instead.

Botox needs time to work though so you need to arrange it soon.

Itstheprinciple · 22/09/2021 21:12

Definitely give driclor a try. You apply it at night, so it seems a bit counterintuitive. I used it before I was a bridesmaid. I found I used it for a while and then the effects seemed to last so I didn't seem to need it for ages. It did make my armpits a bit irritated but it was short term and the effect outweighed that side effect.

iloveroastpotatoes · 22/09/2021 22:49

Both my husband and son use Anhydrol. It really works!

VladmirsPoutine · 22/09/2021 23:21

I was going to say Driclor too and avoid having too hot a shower.

DoncasterHombre · 23/09/2021 00:15

What @RoseGoldGlasses said, OP. Anhydrol Forte (It's a aluminum chloride solution; they sell branded ones like Driclor, etc, but you can pick this one up for about a fiver at most chemists)

It's an over the counter roll on you can buy but, as advised, don't over do it. It's pretty uncomfortable to use for the first few times but as you have a couple of weeks, if you start now you should be okay.

Dress shields or panty liners!

Itstheprinciple · 24/09/2021 19:04

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor

Dress shields or panty liners!
Depends if the dress has sleeves to hide these.
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/09/2021 20:10

Well yes, obviously.
