What do I need to make a cosy reading corner?

DD wants a cosy reading corner in her bedroom. She doesn't want to get rid of any toys or books... she has no obvious floor space, except the middle of the room which is generally covered with an assortment of playmobil, Lego, sylvanian families and a large bean bag. She already has a fleece blanket. How can I convince her that the end of her bed is a perfectly good reading "corner"?

She's got a bean bag. That's comfy enough to snuggle on with her fleece blanket to read! Have you looked into shelving for the Playmobil, lego and Sylvanian families? Much better than being on the floor.

Encourage her to tidy up to create the space she wants.

Can you put a good reading light and nice cushion on the spot you think is a good reading corner? Or ask her to draw what she wants it to look like then you can talk to her about details you can change in her room to give her that with what she already has.

The most important thing - the right lighting. A down-lamp in a chosen corner will provide light for reading but, with the ceiling light turned off, give a cosy feel.

I agree with pp that the beanbag would be ideal seating/lounging. Could you put the beanbag in a corner with a lamp and a small book case; perhaps a nice rug as well?

I know you have no floor space (we have a teepee which DS loves) but maybe a canopy over the end of the bed? A little covered or nook would feel cosy - some fairy lights or a little night light, fluffy cushions.

Is there a corner, if the room was tidy?
If so, a small book case and/or some Ikea spice racks for front facing book display, or a trug box/ basket of books. Beanbag and blanket and you are home and dry.
If you want to / can go further, a small rug to define the space, and a reading light (could clip to the shelves if no room for a lamp).

If you want to nidge her towards using her bed, could you get a big v shaped pillow - I used one for breastfeeding? Then she could prop that against the wall/headboard to read in comfort

She has a reading lamp at the head of the bed that we use when we read to her in the evenings. She doesn't have an unoccupied corner of her bedroom!
She could put the beanbag against the bed on the floor to be under the lamp. I still have my v shaped pillow in the attic so I could see if that works on the bed.

We had something like this which cam with a little clip on torch. You can use it on the bed, or on the floor/over the bean bag.
Sorry for the horrid link, if you want to search Dream Tents on Smyths website. It’s about £15
