Is this a thing with young women these days?

Couldn't find the correct board and this one looked interesting!!
I've noticed lately that women like to ask men that they have no romantic link to, to get them to do things for them, and wondered if it's ' a thing'
One 25 yr old at work was sitting next to a man, and she just said, 'can you get me some tissues from the kitchen, my eye is watering.' And he just went and got them. She was perfectly capable. Other things have been getting a man to lace up her shoes, another man to put her hair up and she got another to - wait for it, pick something out of her teeth. Seriously.
Maybe it's just her? Why though? If it was a man doing this there would be red flags all over.
She has a boyfriend and said if he ever cheated on her he'd be out. Maybe she's flirting??

Because I'm in my 40s and never ever seen anything like it before

But why young women? Why not a [insert place name where she’s from] thing? Or a [insert her job title here] thing? Or just a chancer thing?

You’ve seen one person behave like thus and decide that it’s to do with her sex and age.

Well I am not young (hate typing that!) but I just asked a guy to get some milk from a nearby shop for me. But then I am in reception and he is a porter that was going to the shop anyway!!!

How weird. They can say no, though. I assume they have free will like the rest of us and aren't under a spell.
