Covid question

My dd has covid so has to isolate for 10 days . So if she was to take a lateral flow test on day 11 and it was positive would she have to carry on isolating ?

Shouldn't take a covid test within 90 days of a positive test as it could still give a positive result even though you arent still contagious

I thought your isolation date started on your confirmed pcr result. Things may have changed though.

Isolation is counted from start of symptoms rather than the PCR date

Don't test for three months afterwards otherwise you risk a positive

Just out of interest. I done a lateral flow test on dd . And it's come up negative. She had a covid test on 16th September which was positive. But the symptoms showed a few days before. She's still isolating. But I just thought it was a bit odd that lateral flow came up negative today 🤔

It's because lateral flow tests are rubbish
You are lucky if they pick up 50% of cases

No. After day 10 of either positive test or onset of symptoms (which ever is first) she can stop isolating unless she still has symptoms, excluding change of taste/smell or cough.

Lateral flow tests only find about 65% of positive cases which is why they are only suitable for twice weekly to catch people who otherwise would could around symptomless.
