Hi my daughter wants to be a doctor she has just started high school I'm not very good with alot of thing's iv bought all the books to help her study and looking for any advice on how to help her get to her dream job so if anyone knows what she should study harder in or any extra tutorial I should get for her I would really appreciate it thank you

The one thing I would say is that she will absolutely need work experience in relevant places (eg hospital). So she will need to organise this when she’s older.

She will also need to study the right subjects at A-level (when I was younger you had to have chemistry, and were strongly advised to have maths for example). So look into this as she gets older and is making subject choices.

All of this is for the future. For now I would just encourage her learning both in and outside of school. She may change her mind (I wanted to be a doctor until sixth form but ultimately changed my mind to a different profession).

Wishing you both lots of luck.

Study very hard to get the required GCSEs, then onto A Levels then onto Uni. You need three "A" or better for A-Level results, it must include Chemistry as well as one, ideally more of Biology, Human Biology, Maths or Physics.

Requirements for the A-levels will vary by school, but GCSE Chemistry, Biology and English and Maths to a high grade will be compulsory.

My Dd is the same, although a bit younger. At the moment I've said she needs to concentrate on working hard in all of her subjects, learning how to learn and find out what she doesn't know; do one sport extra curricular and find one creative extra curricular she likes as being a doctor a tough job and she will need to be able to relax and know how to keep healthy.
