Charity shop kids stuff takeover day - ideas?

I volunteer at a charity shop and we have quite a stock of kids stuff - clothes, games, cuddlies etc. I’ve suggested we have a one-off day where we put all this out, take out the clothing stars which make it difficult to move a buggy about in the shop and just make it a bit different for Mums and Dads. Anything which would be a real winner?

My local charity shop does all childrens clothes and toys at 3 for a pound. They shift so much stuff and it's brilliant for picking up things like leggings and jumpers, which we get through a hell of a lot of.

3 for a quid?! I presume the charity actually wants to make some money, rather than just "shift some stuff" Confused

We have a charity shop which just sells kids stuff, books and toys. It's great and does really well. If you have space perhaps organise a kids competition colouring or something while parents browse. Litte prize of a shop credit voucher' for the winner and send pic into local paper. Involve local schools.

@GreyhoundG1rl every time I've been in, no matter what the day or time, they are always busier than the other charity shops nearby, which sell things like one baby vest for 3.50 or a broken toy for two quid.
So I assume yes, they do make money, and also help out people who don't have much of it themselves to spend.

Pick a simple theme that fits with the kids stock e.g. rain and rainbows and style the shop around it, umbrellas hanging from the ceiling works well...I've asked for donations on the theme too. It's fun to strip the fabric from some umbrella frames and wrap with wool or coloured rags and hang them from ceiling. Play children's music. Depending on where you are based ask for donations of playmobil, lego, wooden toys, all the classics. If it suits your shop then you could try and get donations of collectable toys and books and make a special display.

Use the bric a brac shelves to display toys in categories like nature, science with optical toys etc. Baking and cooking section. Of course you can mix in normal stock too where it complements the theme. If you have a window then painting different sized cardboard boxes with bold colours {left over household paint/samples} to display items and make an eye catching display.

If you have any volunteers who are creative then use some broken toys to make a mash up sculpture in the style of a robot etc

give this a name to make it into a pop up event, volunteers will have suggestions and then when sorting/prepping you can involve everyone in looking for items to put aside for "The Kids Rainbow Smash" or whatever your name is.

The problem with one day is that you need to make sure it's well advertised and maybe include games and competitions etc.

One of my local shops has a really big area for children's clothes and it's very popular

A charity shop near us has baskets of things like small plastic dinosaurs/animals, small toy cars etc that are 25p each or 5 for a pound. When dd was a but smaller she used to love being given her own money to choose a toy from the basket. It is a good way for the shop to sell all those random little toys that get donated.

If you have lots of cuddles could that be the theme? E.g. teddy bears picnic or jungle theme and you could use some of them for decoration as well as selling them. Maybe a guess the name of the bear competition if you have a particularly large or nice one.
A rail of dressing up stuff with accessories? Especially with Halloween coming up.
