What snacks do your 20 months old eat

Dc DAIRY FREE and very fussy
And eats the same foods all the time
please don't judge
The others 1 eats near enough everything except salad and anything in a white sauce. But hates any quick beige food nuggets etc.
The other eats everything

The youngest has been a fuss from the start. Wouldn't eat a solid until about 11m, even a yoghurt was about 9m!

Eats
Cheerios or multi grain shapes
Toast plain or sometimes a teeny bit of jam
Bananas
Maybe 2 segment of clementine/satsuma
Grapes
Blueberries
Straeberries
Carrot
Swede
Peas
Corn
Bake beans
Tin spaghetti

Bolognese
Chilli mild.
Pasta
Potato
Teeny bit of rice
Fish fingers
Nuggets
Sausgaes
Chips

Pitta bread

NO sandwich fillings
No cheeses (dairy free is disgusting don't blame him lol)
NO other meats

I'm struggling because he eats the same fruit snacks over and over. And crisps (yes they're bad but when he barley eats any volume of food I'm happy for him to eat whatever) and he eats the mamia cereal bars.

Not keen on crackers or any bread other than pitta and has to be Warburton ones.

I'm at My witts end I just want him to eat! I've tried so much. And it's just a shock as all the others were a doddle and prefer a roast type dinner to a mac d! He'd eat a mac d! Haha

I would have been thrilled if either of mine would have eaten such a wide range of foods at 20 months.

Just always try and leave a little bit of something that they don't normally eat on the place and ignore the child if they are interacting with the new food. Sometimes they don't want the attention.

My 21 mo old is dairy free too (and several other foods due to allergies). I feel like I'm constantly trying to find foods he likes as he's fussy and eats like a bird. His diet is fairly similar to your little one's to be honest.

Agree that vegan cheese is grim. The best one we've found is violife extra mature.

Other suggestions: Rice cake and nut butter or sunflower seed butter, sourdough crumpet with dairy free spread, veggie sticks and humus, soya or coconut yoghurt mixed with fruit puree, oat milk smoothie (chuck in any seeds and fruit, we do chia seeds, strawberries and bananas), sweet potato fries with tomato salsa, any mince meat, vegan pesto with pasta and tuna.

My DD is 19mths and eats a lot less things than your DC. I worry about it a lot as I don't want her to be a fussy eater like I am.

We've discovered recently she will eat rice cakes. She loved broghies but now we can't get hold of them. She goes crazy for hot cross buns which I don't like her eating but at least it's something. She also loves the nestle cerelac farmers selection snacks.

My 16 month old loves things like:
Hummus (i dip broccoli in it for her or put it on toast/oatcakes...she LOVES it)
Lots of different fruits (that's great that your little one loves fruit!)
Some veg (especially the broccoli)
Baked beans
Avocado
Smoothies (eg one I made today was frozen blueberries, avocado, pineapple and papaya (all frozen), kale, mint and water... she loves it, really fruity)
Mackerel (tinned or smoked), chicken, sausage, hard boiled egg etc
Jelly (a sugar and sweetener free pot, think it's called Dole?)
Baby crisps eg lentil wheels
Baby oat bar/flapjacks (Kiddilicious /Organix)
Other "sweet-like" baby fruit treats like Kiddilicious Crispy Tiddlers etc
(Her fave food is cheese and that was her first word too, so she's not dairy-free, but she loves food bless her!)

Oh yes another thing mine loves is overnight oats and raisins soaked in no sugars coconut milk... or porridge made in the same way. Likes a bit of honey on it too. The Alpro coconut milk is really nice. I sometimes use oat milk either.
Nut butter on crackers/rice cakes/oatcakes is a good idea if ok with nuts.

My is 13 and the list of foods she will eat is not as long that. Granted, she has ASD, but still, that list is fantastic. I don’t understand why you are worried.

Pissedoffneigbour2. I had problems getting Broghies too for myself. Used to sell in morrisons and Iceland but no more but Home bargains do a version of them.

TinselTime21 · 17/09/2021 17:59

Thank you.
I feel. Worried because I 'compare to the others' who eat everything except a couple of items. We could go to a restaurant and never struggle to get them something.
Youngest. We avoid places because of it. Or it's the same fish fingers chips and beans :(

Will look at other suggestions

Dietician has said to let him have a bit of food with baked milk. Ie a digestive / bit of cake etc every other day hoping in time it be easier.?
