Driver Theory Test, book or app?

DS is looking at starting to do this. I used the book, found it brilliant. But I have heard people talking about an app?
If you or your DC did it recently, what did they use, please? And what would you recommend?
Thanks.

I used the app and passed first time - would definitely recommend it. It’s better in my opinion because you can do 10 minutes here and there and there are built in knowledge checks that show you your strengths and weaknesses in different areas.

Great, thanks. Which app did you use?

I used the app and passed 8 years ago. I used Theory Test Pro, it was free via my local library and really good, particularly for the hazard perception bit.

My experience is slightly different, we bought DD the book but she was adamant that she would be fine just using the app - she wasn't, she failed her first attempt and then worked through the book and passed second time

I would say both have strengths, the app is good for hazard perception though which you obviously can't do through the book

I used an app that if I followed the entire progress would pay for my resit if I failed & I passed first time. The hazard perception videos were very helpful & it meant I could study on the way to work, at any moment really.

Dc1 who is dyslexic and has asd has just passed first time using the app. Little and often tests over two weeks worked.

Both.

The 4-1 app is excellent for test practice and they can do little and often, and especially for the hazard clips, but the book gives them more background and they learn more.

Depends on whether they want to just pass the test or broader learning.

@Boscoforever I used the official DVSA app - I think it cost 7 quid? Well worth the money and convenient for on the go!

Thanks for all the suggestions, very helpful.
