Trapped wind

PLEASE PLEASE HELP READ ALL

My baby is 1 years old still with trapped wind
(Note she was like this before even starting to wean)

She will not stop wriggling in her sleep, putting her knees to her chest. I have to keep picking her up and soothing her otherwise she’ll wake within few mins
(NOT REFLUX)

When my baby was young she had always had issues with her tummy: constipation and diarrhoea, alternating between the two. She had reflux eczema and trapped wind

I then learned she had non ige cmpa. I changed to neocate and all of her symptoms including reflux disappeared. She still seemed to have trapped wind

At first I thought it might’ve been silent reflux as I always see mums blame everything on reflux like arching back and crying on this group as other groups but that’s really not the case. Can be frustration, gas and tiredness. I learnt it was just that and not reflux.

While thinking it was silent reflux I tried many things: gaviscon, lansoprazole, omeprazole, fennel tea, cot wedge, sling, burping her a lot, smaller feeds more often, eliminating any reflux flaring feeds, loose clothing, carobel and other thickeners she reacted to and more.

I then realised it’s not reflux so I turned back to treating it as trapped wind. She had a 75% restricted tongue tie which was cut and so I thought it would make a difference and there was no difference in her trapped wind only her latching and lifting her tongue

I have tried anti colic bottles, gripe water, cool boiled water, dentinox colic drops, comfort milk, tummy time, organic milk, infacol, probiotics, babocush, fennel tea, massages, bicycle kicks, burping every 2 ounces and after feeds, put her on neocate, pacefeeding, keep her upright after meals, putting her on her tummy to sleep, osteopath numerous sessions and tummy calm.

She was referred to a paediatrician yet again which they simply just said, it can be normal at this age, felt her tummy and said yes her tummy is full of gas. Which I think is bullshit, that’s not normal after everything I’ve tried and at this age!

She was also diagnosed with a spasm disorder in her tummy. Having episodes of abdominal spasms

I never gave up so I rung the doctors to ask for their help instead of a lot of research and advice from mums and he diagnosed her with chronic constipation. I thought FINALLY it really could just be this but then I thought she’s only constipated sometimes and not all the times but she’s still like it!

I treated her constipation for months and there was absolutely no difference. She was the same, still would not stop wriggling in her sleep.

Please note even when she poos before bed she still wriggles at night

Now I’m thinking maybe it’s spasms in her tummy? I don’t know i really have tried everything 🥺

IBS runs in my family and my ibs is mild- severe so I was thinking that’s also an option

I never give up and I won’t until I find out what’s wrong with her!

Hello,
How’s your little girl doing now? Is the constipation and trapped wind better at all? My little boy is 17 months and is also very windy, his tummy often seems bloated, and he poops 5-6 times a day (!), so I suspect he’ll be diagnosed with IBS at some point :( It’s so tough as it always seems like I’m the only mummy whose baby always cries (or poops!).

Let me know how you are getting on with doctors’ advice as well - did they manage to do any tests?
