Too big for next2me, not ready for own room…

Any recommendations on a halfway bed?

DS ends up in with me most nights 😁 but I’d at least like to try him in his own bed but he really is too big for his little side cot now at 7 months old……

Will his cot fit in your room? You could take one side off and connect it to the side of your bed.

It needs to be the big cot really… he could be walking soon, even now he’s not too young to be pulling to stand. Unless you’re always co-sleeping and never leaving him alone then you need something that is lower with higher sides so he’s safely contained even if he stood up. If you don’t think he’s ready for his own room yet then can you rearrange the furniture to fit it in your room?

I don't think any of the side cots are okay for use after 6 months, I looked for one. The Snuzcot can be used next to your bed too, but it's not the same, and if you've already got a cot, it's a pointless expense. Can his cot get in your room?

We got a compact cot as there wasn’t enough space for a cot bed in our room. Similar to this one here

We strapped an IKEA cot to the side of our bed. A full size cot, with one side taken off (one designed to be used as a cot bed with a side off).

Get a cotbed. Use as a cot for now and when he gets older, you can take the sides off It. They last until they are about 5.

I had a compact cot too like the poster above mentioned! We didn't have much space but it just about fit in between the bed and the wall if we moved some stuff around. Look for space saver cot and see what comes up. It's small but the bottom drops so it's safe once they can sit. We had my youngest in it until about 20 months (waiting to move!).

We put a travel cot at the end of our bed but with a proper mattress for ours. Worked well for us.

That didn't read well - I mean a proper mattress in the travel cot - it worked well for our children!

Sorry, it's late!

Join The Beyond Sleep Training Project on Facebook and have a look at their safety guidelines for sidecarring regular cot to your bed (you'll need furniture raisers and some decent straps).
