Any tips on Halloween games that have been a success over the years for your DC? Or games that you remember enjoying as a kid?

I'm doing a halloween party this year for the extended family inc. kids.. i'd love for them to play some games rather than be on screens..

Apple bobbing/dooking

Blindfold story - where you put things like tinned spaghetti (guts) peeled grapes (eyeballs) into bowls & then blindfold them & tell them what they’re feeling. (Someone will explain this better I’m sure)

Treacle scones on string on a washing line hands behind back & try to eat it.
Sugar donuts - eat without licking your lips.

Wrap a mummy. Cheap loo roll, teams of 3-4; one kid is the mummy, the others wrap them up as a mummy, on a timer.

Pin the wart on the witches nose (a variation on pin the tail on the donkey!)

The one where you hang doughnuts from a string and they have to take bites with their hands tied behind their back

Feely boxes with gruesome insides eg jelly, cooked spaghetti “brains”, pickled onion “eyeballs”, hot dog sausage “fingers”

The Monster Munch Game.

You draw/print some monster pictures, tape them to the floor, get children to stand behind a line and throw a bag of Monster Munch onto the monster picture.

Nearest one - 1 point, farthest one - 10 points, etc.

I also did it with shark pictures and a toy octopus for a pirate party.

Great game.

Try and decorate one room up 'Halloweeny'. You can buy rolls of plastic (sorry) printed stuff with Victorian looking planks, blue-tacked on.

I had an amazing Halloween part for kids 10 odd years ago.

I (get this) did a family portrait of us like the Addams family, blown up on a printer (poor resolution), then I overpainted it a bit, and framed it sooo cheaply. Hung it above the table in the dining room.

It was so much fun

For the 'feely boxes', get your most confident parent to read a story, preferably dressed up for the part. So you pas the box of grim around at each high point of the story.

Remember brownies. Marigold glove filled with water passed round in the dark this is the hand of Andromeda.

For a Halloween menu, there are lots of ideas if you google it! But I do remember hot dogs with ketchup being served as bloody fingers, and crisps being shaved skin!
Could do Musical Ghouls, as an alternative to Musical Statues. Or Let Sleeping Ghouls Lie!
Also remember my daughter doing Pin The Nose On The Witch.
