Apple MacBook - yes or no?

Have been thinking for a while now about buying a MacBook. Current laptop is about 8 years old, really slow, some of the keys don’t work.
Have been using my iPad when necessary but it’s obviously not as easy as a laptop/MacBook when doing documents.

Any pros or cons?

Get it OP, you won't look back. I have an air for backpacking - it's so light and battery lasts for ages. And a Pro for home use, I love them. The chargers are really flimsy imo and third party ones I've tried are crap so look after it because they're expensive to replace.

I couldn't go back to a laptop that isn't a Mac. I removed how long it would take to load, to wake up, all the malware etc

Had mine about 5/6 years and it still runs on in seconds. No loading. No viruses, and battery lasts days.

I also have an iPhone so it's all synched to that which is handy

I have used Macs for the last 20 years. I have to use a windows laptop at work and it drives me mad.
The thing to be aware of is that it is different operating systems. There is a learning curve.

Give the official reconditioned Apple MacBooks a go. I've had two MacBook Pros and they're like new and you save a little cash. The 2015 model I have is still going strong and runs all programs without any issue.

As others have mentioned, similarly the Apple Mac products we've had have always lasted longer in terms of performance, MacOS support, app support than previous Windows based computers.

MacOS isn't perfect, but I do think Apple's OS combined with the specific band of hardware they use yields longevity.
