I just went to DD’s school in pyjamas…

I know pyjamas are not to be worn outside. I wouldn’t normally wear pyjamas outside. But I came into the lounge at about 8.20 this morning and spotted DD’s PE kit on the sofa and thought ‘shit’! She takes the bus to school, which is 20-ish minutes drive away. I asked if she needed it and she asked me to bring it in. So I put a jumper on and off I drove, in pyjama trousers, never having the intention of leaving the car.

By the time I got there I had completely forgotten I was wearing pyjamas. DD said she couldn’t come out because they were doing a fire drill, so I said I would ask reception 🤦‍♀️ Reception said no because they used to end up with a mountain of lunches and kits, I said I understood and walked back to the car. DD then said she could now come out and asked me to go into reception again. I went in, she came and got it, I thanked the receptionist and walked out. Then I remembered I was wearing pyjamas. And there’s no denying it’s pyjamas because it’s fleece trousers with bright neon polar bears on them. I’m dying of embarrassment. Should I send flowers and apologise or do I wait for the ParentMail saying “parents and carers should be fully dressed when in the school building please”? Grin

Anyone wants to make me feel better by telling me their embarrassing school moments? Please? Blush

I was once smooching round tesco doing weekly shop and while at the checkout someone I knew pointed out I still had my slippers on.
They were really manly looking cream ones as well I was suitably mortified.

A few years ago, we had a Pj’s day at work for Children In Need, the dafter the better. I was wearing a pink striped fleecy onesie, complete with cat eats (I looked like bagpuss!). No problem at work as everyone looked as daft as each other, however, on my journey home, one junction of the motorway away, I broke down. Of course, I had no other clothes and not even a coat, so I had to stand at the side of the M1 looking like an absolute twat Grin

This has made me laugh, especially the chewing gum stuck to the mask! Sorry but Grin

During the heatwave a couple of weeks ago, I had to collect my son from work. I was so hot, I had a quick shower, combed some conditioner in my hair and scraped it back and put some old shorts over my bikini. I looked shit but wasn't getting out of the car..

The car overheated on the way, I had to turn it off and get out and I spent half an hour standing at the side of a busy road looking a fright in a saggy bikini with awful hair.

Not school (or me) but my auntie was taken out for lunch a few weeks ago, got to the cafe and took her coat off but had no top on underneath Shock

I once forgot I had parent teacher meetings so had to get to school 15 minutes before pick up. Was sunbathing in the garden when my friend messaged me to ask what time my appointment was. Had to throw on clothes over my bikini and run over there all sweaty and inappropriately dressed

These swimming snafus are reminding me of the "everyone can see your MINGE" thread. Grin

Heavily pregnant and wearing flip flops on a hot day (allowed by office dress code) I was mortified to have one slide off my foot down onto the rail as I disembarked.

I had to walk with one flip flop and one barefoot down the platform and across cross charing Cross station straight into the small next outside the station. I'll never forget the humiliation of everyone thinking I was a mad pregnant person who liked wearing one shoe.

Not sure why I didn't take the one off and own it fully barefoot.

I spoke at a conference once with my jumper on back to front . It had two pockets so was pretty obvious ( except to me !)

When I was in my teens I got to the Tube station one morning and it was closed. So I ran back home and asked DM to give me a lift to school. She was still in dressing gown (batty, due to be replaced), slippers (fluffy mules) and nightie (swishy and silky), but she took me in the car as she was, because she wasn't going to get out of the car.

Half way there one of the tyres blew. I had to walk the rest of the way to school, and DM had to walk home. In her dressing gown (batty, due to be replaced), slippers (fluffy mules) and nightie (swishy and silky). In the rain.

Reader, I never assume I won't be getting out of the car Grin

I've made it all the way to work several times, before realising that I'm still wearing my slippers. Fortunately they're felt clogs, so I generally just style it out, let people think I'm some sort of eccentric.
