Is it littering to drop a lollipop stick in the woods? If so why?

I think wooden lolly sticks are treated, so they aren’t just natural wood which will decompose like tree sticks.

In the Burning Man community we think of litter as anything that’s “MOOP”, or “matter out of place.” If you wouldn’t find it in its current location in its current form, you take it home with you (or don’t bring it at all - glitter at festivals I’m looking at you!)

Anything that should be in a bin but gets thrown elsewhere is littering

GoodVibesHere · 13/09/2021 20:43

Yes I would consider that to be littering. It wouldn't bio-degrade

An apple core in the woods would be fine, I think.

Yes, that’s littering. As is dropping a banana skin. Even tho it’ll biodegrade eventually, I hate walking along and seeing someone else’s banana skin on the ground. It’s invasive to my sense of peace.
