For 3 bed end terrace. 2 adults and 2 kids! We are with SSE and out electric £162 and gas £80. I've tried looking at others on u switch but apparently this is one of the cheaper one only saving £10 with some others. Why is it so expensive 😭

That sounds extortionate. Im in a 1930s end terrace albeit 2 bed and 2 adults one DC and mine is £61 a month dual fuel (has always been around this much for 3 years) definitely doesn't sound right to me

Definitely seems high. I'm in a mid terrace 3-bed and work from home. Definitely don't skimp on heating. I pay £80 per month for gas and electricity. I thought that was high!

If it turns out you are paying off a debt it can be a pain to sort out unfortunately. Citizens advice might have useful info on their website, they deal with energy companies a lot.

It shouldn't be difficult if it isn't the OP's debt. My landlord just switched the supply to another energy company. Nothing the previous company could do about it. The previous company charging the debt to the meter was taking the pee, it wasn't my debt or his. Sorting out the debt from the previous home owner was that company's problem not mine or my landlord's.

@Meltinthemiddle

This is apparently how much we use
When you say it's apparently what you use do you mean it doesn't tell you somewhere the actual meter readings you've submitted.

If you can see the corect readings then it is what you've used so unless there is something wrong with your meter you need to look at how to reduce your useage. Both of those amounts are very high
