Two of my children have covid and are quite unwell. Dh and i are both fully vaccinated but have underlying conditions that could mean we are more at risk.

Added to that i was bitten a few times in the park last week and one of the bites is super angry looking and i have no idea what to do with it (if anything!) even if there was something to do im basically living in a pit of covid now.

And breathe….

It's hard OP, remember that household transmission is not a given. We know several households where DC have had it and adults not, or one adult but not the other, even when mixing.

Severe illness (hospitalization) or death from covid with a double vaccination is very unlikely.

All you can do is keep your DC well, put what measures you can in place-mask wearing if you want, disinfecting of anything mutually touched regularly, as much air flow as possible in rooms, regular lateral flow testing for you and your DP so you can separate if need be and catch it early should one of you contract it.

Keep the DC hydrated and remember it WILL pass.

Re: the bite, there is no reason you can't ring a GP or show them a photo via digital appointment if you are concerned. I would order (amazon prime or have someone drop off at the door) some bite cream and keep an eye on it for a few days, try antihistamines too.

You'll get through it Flowers

I’d be the same op. I suffer from health anxiety. But, it will pass and you will be ok. Rest, drink fluids, try vitamin d tablets and dettol spray to inch points. Keep windows open, order paracetamol and Calpol. All the practical things you can do might make you feel more in control.
Oh and order an oximeter for peace of mind.

The the bite, I’ve had similar and sent a pic to the doc and was prescribed antibiotics. Explain the covid situation, the pharmacy may deliver.

Thanks - dh is in the living room and we have sent the 16 year old to bed but our youngest is only 5 and she’s just sitting on my lap - her temp is 40 degrees now so I’m calpoling and hugging.

I might send a pic to the doctor if my leg is no better Monday - I’ll attach a picture here it’s hideous and hairy but for some reason sharing the hideousness with other people makes me feel a little less panicky about it - my husband is the opposite to me - his leg could be literally hanging off and he would barely mention it !

the bite take anti histamines and having just survived a mighty midge attack in Scotland i found putting anti bac gel on the bites stopped the itching

Wow that is one hell of a bite, looks very sore. I'd be holding an ice pack against it, marking the red area to check it's not spreading and definitely if it's not improved or if it gets worse sending the Dr a picture.
Hope you are all feeling better soon.
