What nice things can I do for my mum?

I wasn't sure where to put this. My mum has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. A total fluke that it was discovered and fortunately it's very early on, very small and hopefully hasn't spread. She is having it removed in a couple of weeks. After the operation I am staying with her at her house as my dad is in a care home.
What nice things can I do for her to come back to? I thought I could make sure the house was tidy with clean bedding on. I don't know if she'll feel like eating anything?
Any other suggestions?

It's bulb planting season- plant her some bulbs that she can look forward to seeing in the spring.

I bought my mum some nice stretchy vests as she couldn't wear a bra. Also a pretty bathrobe.

Can you bake? Make cakes that she likes, and slice and freeze in slices. Then she can have a bit when she feels like it.

How 'big' is her op? Will she need help, or amendments around the house?

Pretty flowers. They make any house look beautiful. Air the house before she comes home. Non scented candles in the evening.
Pretty comfortable lounge wear. Nice hand cream.

Not a big operation I think she'll feel sore afterwards. I like the idea of the vests. I'm not sure I could manage the baking as she is gluten free but I could buy something.
The nurse did say to have something to look forward to so plants sound a nice idea.

I'll get some comfy loungewear at Primark tomorrow

Look at "Jen's friends' charity and get her a mastectomy pillow. I know she is probably having a lumpectomy but they are so useful for the car to protect against the seatbelt rubbing and for getting comfortable in bed.

I'll have a look thank you. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

Also if you are getting loungewear a zip or button top is easier as she might not be able to lift her arms up initially to put it on. Get a slightly larger size.

Vest tops are good in a bigger size too so that she can step into them and pull up rather than raising arms.

All good to know thank you

OP, do you know if she'll be having chemotherapy?

My mum went through the same thing, with a prolonged period of treatment/appointments etc. Aside from some front fastening sports bras from M&S, I got her a Take a Break magazine subscription which she has greatly enjoyed.
