How many packets of Halloween sweets do you buy to give out?

Last year was quiet with covid, I think got through out about 100, so not sure how many to buy for this year. I need to budget and find some deals. My area is usually very busy, this will be my third Halloween, the first year I ran out in about an hour. I think I had 60 packets.

We don’t buy packets, just wrapped sweets. So a tub of heroes and some moams

Depends how busy you are though! I’d rather not have leftovers so we just turn the lights off and bring in the pumpkin when we’re done

A couple of bags of Harino mini packs.

Trying to decide if dts are too old at ten to go out this year given they missed it last year - any thoughts?

Couple of tubs of celebrations/heroes and a few variety packs of the things that have small packets of maltesers and twix type stuff in. It’s always on offer at the supermarket, probably spend about £15 tops.
If you’re worrying about specifically budgeting and hunting around for deals because you get so many visitors then I wouldn’t worry about it, there will be loads of other houses putting sweets out, just bring in your pumpkins/decorations etc when you’ve run out. Or just stop answering the door.
Around here at least, the unwritten rule seems to be to only knock on the doors of houses with pumpkins out and lights etc on.

Definitely have to bring in stuff once ran out, what else can you do ? 😱 I think trick or treating is fine for primary school age and below.

My dds usually take out their younger brother, they don’t dress up anymore Grin but some people are very kind and offer them sweets!
They are older though and go to Halloween parties and dress up (they don’t go trick or treating though).

Sorry, their brother is 9.

Weren’t people told not to knock doors last year because of Covid, you had to walk around and spot a pumpkin then give your kids sweets yourself 😬 probably why it was quiet

We got a few sweets in ‘just in case’ last year and probably had about 3 knocks. It was very (mercifully!) quiet.
