Oxford! Quickest route in town (with pic).

Coming from the south (Redbridge park'n'ride), this is the 300 bus route, hopefully first bus of Sunday morning (8.30am).

Heading to Keble College (red dot). Would we be better off getting off at the arrow and walking, or staying on the bus to where the bus route briefly divides?

Time is of the essence.

Thanks.

I'd stay on the bus until St. Giles then walk through the passage to Keble. I don't currently live in Oxford but used to.

Can you take a cab?

Happy36 · 09/09/2021 13:08

Your red dot isn't Keble. Keble is north of South Parks Road, opposite the natural history museum.

QuestionableMouse · 09/09/2021 13:09

Ask the driver when you get on. They're usually happy to help! 😊

TheWumpus · 09/09/2021 13:10

Keble's a bit further north than your dot.. do you know exactly where you need to go? I'd stay on the bus too, especially if you don't know Oxford well.

CointreauVersial · 09/09/2021 13:10

Agree, Sunday morning traffic should be relatively light so stay on the bus til St Giles.

Unless the weather is good and you fancy a stroll through the city centre, taking in the sights.....Won't take too any minutes from either point (centre isn't huge).

SeriouslyISuppose · 09/09/2021 13:10

Yes, that’s nowhere near Keble, OP. Are you definitely going to Keble, or to where your arrow is pointing, which looks like ones of the cottages in the grounds of ChCh?

SeriouslyISuppose · 09/09/2021 13:11

Sorry, I mistook your red dot for your red arrow. Ignore me.

FoxNet · 09/09/2021 13:15

That red dot isn't Keble. At a push it's Wadham. Get the X13 and stay on til the High Street. Then head up Queen's Lane.

SeriouslyISuppose · 09/09/2021 13:15

Though @TheWumpus and @Happy36 are right, Keble is further north than your dot, north of the junction with South Parks Rd.

The 300 doesn't stop on St Giles, as far as I can tell. Get off at the last stop (Magdalen Street, by the Odeon and Tesco). Cross the road, turn left, walk along St Giles to the Lamb and Flag Passage. Go down the Passage and Museum Road in a straight line. Keble is a red brick building which will be on your left, follow it round, the entrance is opposite the natural history museum. Its a 5ish minute walk.

Thanks everyone. I just marked Parks Rd as the dot as the entrance to Keble is along there.Apparently!

We'll stay on the P and R bus to St Giles, then.

Sorry, Ellie, I see what you mean. I'll follow your route.

Do John’s students still try to nick bricks from the walls of Keble? This has reminded me!

What EllieSattler explained.

Thanks, everyone.
