I think this is a silly question, but do you use the space about the kitchen extrator fan for any kind of storage? I think we're just wasting the space and I would like to use it, for things like cleaning cloths or kitchen towels. However, DH seems to think the space will tend to get too hot everytime we use the fan and that would be a fire hazard. Is that true?
Thanks!!

Can you use it for anything that's not tea towels? It's not going to be a fire hazard if it has pyrex dishes or infrequently used glasses in it?

I have never had one in a cupboard so don't know, but ours always seemed to attract dust and grease like nothing else so I think I would want to use non fabric things to store there. I don't think it can get too hot or the chip board that the cupboards are made of would disintegrate surely?

Slightly diff shape but mine is jam packed with oils and stuff like white wine vinegar. Tubs have hand mixers in (v small kitchen so no choice) All seem fine.

We have floating shelves there. It doesn't get burning hot but it does get warm and steamy and things get a bit sticky. We keep some lightweight storage jars up there that are not breakable and are easily wiped.

Thank you all!
You're right, it does get dusty and sticky, so tea towels may not be the best option. Will try out some jars or infrequently used things. Thanks! Smile

Put your tea towels in a lidded box up there so it can be easily removed to add / take out a towel. Then all you need to do is wipe down the box occasionally, rather than wiping down individual items.
