DS struggling to sleep.. best earplugs for sleeping or something else?

ds (17) is very sensitive to noise and hates eating with us. He is struggling to sleep at the minute due to me, dh and the cat snoring! Blush He find earplugs very uncomfortable-we've tried the wax ones and silicon and white noise doesn't work for him. Any recommendations please? He's a side sleeper

TIA

I have tried so many different types but the ones in the photo are just fab. Not sure if he's tried these?

He needs white noise or other background noise to break up the sound of the snoring.

Ear plugs that create silence make your ears 'seek' noise. Silence can make hypersensitivity even worse.

You can pick up white noise machines on Amazon etc, or there are apps you can download.

Sorry missed that he'd tried white noise. There are lots of different noises, so worth persevering with it. I like ASMR also, look at Whispers Red on YouTube. It's a love/ hate thing, but can be really helpful if you find the right video.

As a reluctant ear plug user myself, I really recommend the green, cone shaped foam earplugs you can get from Boots. I always found the cylindrical ones painful and uncomfortable, but the cone shaped ones are much easier to wear! Maybe give those a go?

I've spent a fortune trying different ones (and noise reducing earbuds and headphones too). These are the ones I found to be most effective: 3M E-A-R Classic Earplugs, 28 dB, Uncorded, Pillowpack, 250 Pairs/Box, PP-01-002 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01AT49LZG

However - I now can't sleep without them. It's not ideal! Also, nothing creates total silence, and snoring is awful as it's intermittent - have you and your DH tried anything to stop it?

I use foam ear plugs as live in loud block flats but then with Bluetooth noise cancellation headphones over top. I have audio books on help me
Drop off. Even with washing machine on in day hardy hear it. Worth trying more ear plugs took me ages find ones didn’t hurt my ears.

Thanks everyone

@jugglingduty I have a deviated septum and small jaw and dh a wonky broken nose and not a particularly strong jaw either so we are a bit stuck really. Cat is a right snorey bugger but he's an old boy and allowed!
