Snoring help

I snore. I don't want to and I know my partner doesn't want to hear it. I do understand how it affects others. We have a very difficult relationship anyway and Ive slept in the spare room for years, for several reasons.

Next weekend we are staying in a hotel but have to share a room for 2 nights. I'm so worried I can't sleep now. I'm considering sleeping in the bathroom (premier inn) but the sound will probably echo more in there. I need help.

Please anyone know of any temporary measures to stop me snoring or some super strength ear plugs for my partner that actually work. I'm feeling desperate now. I actually just tried to book another room but they are full. I'm really stressing about this.

Hmm. I'd suggest another hotel! Tbh even sharing a room when you don't usually could affect sleep.

Would you be able to have a conversation about this? Has s/he any ideas about eg noise cancelling headphones?

I tried every ear plug including expensive noise cancelling electronic ones. In the end we got a CPAP for my partner and it was life changing. I would suggest talking and maybe holding out for another hotel room. It'll be miserable for both of you otherwise.
Maybe use some ear plugs in addition to noise cancelling headphones in the short term but commit to a sleep lab and a CPAP longer term. It isn't doing either of you any good. You mustn't be sleeping properly.

Have you discovered why you snore?

Your weight?

Septum problem?

I know that won’t help you fit this trip but getting it sorted to prevent further help problems will help you and your partner have a better quality of life.

I used to snore terribly and drove my dh mad. The long term solution for me was losing weight and cutting out alcohol. However, I realise that those things aren't always the reason for other people snoring and may not apply to you and I'm also aware you are looking for a quick fix before the weekend. When I was desperate for something to work quickly, I bought some "nose vents" from Amazon (they sell them on ebay and other online places too). They were about a fiver and you can get them in a box of assorted sizes as, obviously, everyone's nostrils are not the same size. They are plastic/silicone type little open tubes connected in the middle, that you place in your nostrils, to keep the nostril wide open and help with breathing whilst you are asleep. I put the biggest ones I could fit up mine to keep the nostrils as open as possible. It sounds crazy and it certainly wasn't my best look, but they did work.
