So sick of throwing food out

Please tell me I'm not alone.

Yet again I am having to throw out fresh fruit and mouldy bread.

I do try and meal plan and shop for the week but sometimes unexpected things happen and we eat out, or one of my dds goes out with a friend and isn't around to eat the fruit etc.

I feel so guilty at the waste.

Got half used jars of jams, sauces etc in the back of the fridge. I want to do a big fridge clear out and then start again.

Any tips please?

Sometimes I do a big fruit salad, great, and ket folk help themselves when away ( I live with puss).
Fruit prep is no big deal, or buy frozen, Aldi do a good choice, always have a bag in, and defrost as needed.
I just cook extra and use as needed, tho eat semi veg, much cheaper

There are things you can do - any vegetables that need using up I turn into sauces and freeze, or gather them up for a traybake meal. Fruit similar - crumbles and purées etc. We keep even small amounts of leftovers - make tasty frittatas for lunch or put with pasta.

Also, you can freeze half a loaf or make breadcrumbs and freeze those too - always handy to have a big bag of breadcrumbs in the freezer. No need to defrost.
