Make the pain go away

So as my user name suggests, I've burnt my fingers.

Three hours ago I picked up a burning pot with my hand .

The pain was fucking horrendous and hasn't really eased.

I've burnt quite badly the front and backs of four fingers.

I have had my hand wrapped in an iced tea towel for hours but each time
I take it out to change the water/ ice, the pain returns. With a vengeance.

Please can anyone suggest anything else I can do. It's so bloody painful.

I recently picked up a frying pan off the hob. Approx 30 seconds after removing it from hot oven. You can imagine the state of my hand.

Went to a&e in the end as it was just unbearable - even hours later. They applied a dressing - I think it was Jelonet. If you can't get that ask the pharmacist for burns dressings. They are usually impregnated with a gel of some sort. Worked wonders.

In your position I'd go to a walk in though.

I did exactly this a few years ago and I am wincing on your behalf... The pain was horrendous. I kept my hand submerged in a bowl of iced water for a few hours. When I had to take it out, I slathered my burnt fingers in Sudocrem... It worked wonders! I swear the burns stopped hurting and healed incredibly quickly.

My DP burnt himself the other day and he was similarly amazed at how effective Sudocrem was at sorting it out.

DH burned his hand today as well. 9hrs later, he's still sitting with his hand in a bowl of water and I remembered a burn dressing in the first aid kit.

It's called Burn Shield and he's now bandaged up and comfortable for the first time all day. Probably no good to you now unless you have a 24hr pharmacy.

The main ingredients are sterile water and tea tree oil on a thick and soft dressing pad. I've cut it up and covered all the burn patches, then wrapped the hand in a soft bandage.

Maybe try to make your own? Any tea tree oil?
